Quaker Faith

We do not share a fixed set of beliefs and you do not need to be a Quaker to worship with us at one of our meetings. Quakers’ faith is expressed through action and we are most widely known for our work for peace.

The Quaker way has its roots in Christianity and finds inspiration in the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus. Quakers also find meaning and value in the teachings of other faiths; we acknowledge that ours is not the only way.

Our focus is on our experience rather than written statements of belief. Our sense of community does not depend on professing identical beliefs, but on worshiping, sharing and working together.

We deepen and explore our faith together in community in a variety of ways, including worship, spiritual discussion and study groups, fellowship, retreats, undertaking the work of our community,  engaging in activism in the wider community together, and participating in the wider Quaker community.  Find out more about the variety of opportunities to connect, participate, contribute, and learn .
