Better Hoover presents again! Bette Rainbow Hoover has been working for peace with justice in Central America since she founded CASA de Maryland www.casademaryland.org in 1985.
Recently she traveled to Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras. On a delegation of health workers to Guatemala, she met with Mayan midwives who have formed women’s circles in 26 remote villages. In Honduras, she was joined by a Proutist monk friend (who lives in Venezuela). Together they offered healing and stress reduction to the staff of the organization, COFADEH (Committee of Families of the Disappeared in Honduras). See www.friendshipamericas.org for info on Honduras.
In Nicaragua she participated in a wedding and baby naming ceremony for a good friend and joined a celebration with campesinos in the countryside. Come hear about her travels and the dilemma she now faces in knowing the most “Friendly” response to what she learned. Let’s discern together what is expected of us to our friends south of our border. See www.justpeacecircles.org for more info about peace circles or call Bette at 410-531-5610.
